Anthony Fenton is an expert on in Haiti, and on Canada's complicity in the abuses occuring there against the civilian populace. He is the co-author with Yves Engler of the book "Canada in Haiti: Waging War on the Poor Majority."

Mr. Fenton explains the history behind the U.S.-backed coup against the democratically-elected President of Haiti Jean Bertrand
Aristide, and the present suffering of Prime Minister Neptune. He then describes the hidden role Canada has played in putting members of the old Duvalier dictatorship back in power.

"Canada has blood on its hands" - this is the theme of Yves' interview. Yves Engler, a very energetic advocate for the rights of the Haitian people, possesses a treasure trove of information on Canada's current role in restoring the Duvalier dictatorship and is currently co-authoring a book with Anthony Fenton on the crisis. He explains some of the details of Canada's role, and especially the truth behind foreign minister Pierre Pettigrew's recent "stabilization and reconstruction" conference and U.S. attempts at exporting "democracy" to Haiti.

In this late December, 2005 interview, author and activist Yves Engler updates Hamilton on the latest happenings in Haiti. We discuss developments in his (with Anthony Fenton) book tour of "Canada in Haiti: Waging War on the Poor Majority," as well as the Canadian Peace Alliance conference, and CHAN's campaign for the 2005-2006 election. Engler also comments on the recent death of a Canadian police officer in Haiti, the role of the media, and CHAN's plans for the future in 2006.

In this short interview, Peter interviews former U.S. Special Forces Sergeant Stan Goff on developments in Haiti in March 2004. Guy Phillipe had declared himself head of the armed forces. Stan explains the FRAPH and their bloody history with U.S. involvement. Challenging the media distortions, Stan also gives some relevant history on the situation in Haiti and the pro-Aristide "gangs."

He and Peter discuss Paul Martin's meddling in Haiti and South America on behalf of the U.S., the ridiculous elections in Haiti and what CHAN is doing about it, and the double standards applied by the 'developed' world in policy toward other countries.

This exclusive interview features Napoleon Gomez, President of The National Union of Mine and Metallurgical Workers of the Mexican Republic (SNTMMSRM). His union has taken a new independent and radical stance, becoming the leading critical voice within
the Congress of Labor. They successfully opposed so called labor law reform (making it almost impossible for Mexican workers to legally strike) advocated by the right wing government.

The Mexican government has thrown Gomez from his position, trying to alter the direction of his union. One-hundred thousand Mexican workers came out to demonstrate in support of his reinstatement. Listen to Gomez describe his militant and emerging union and the Mexican government's bullying, and Canadians' efforts to show solidarity with their fellow workers.
