In the past 10 days, the Taylor Report has conducted three helpful interviews about Syria.
For your convenience, they are listed below, with the newest first:
1. Lawless America Playing the Long Game in Syria
April 16th, 2018
Featured Guest: STEPHEN GOWANS, Ottawa-based writer and political commentator, author of the upcoming “Patriots, Traitors and Empires: The Story of Korea’s Fight for Freedom.” gowans.wordpress.com
Description (25 minutes):
In total violation of the UN Charter and international law the US, together with its old colonial chums UK and France, committed an act of war against Syria, founding member of the United Nations. 103 missiles were fired.
What next? While Syria continues to win back its territory the US appears to be settling in, east of the Euphrates, hoping to win the long game.
2. The Empire doubles-down on war in Syria
April 9th, 2018
Featured Guest: RICK STERLING, California-based Journalist and Syria Solidarity Activist.
Description (27 minutes):
Phil interviews Rick Sterling of the Syria Solidarity Movement about the liberation of Eastern Ghouta. Sterling debunks the White Helmets’ accusation that the Syrian government used chemical weapons in the town of Douma. The White Helmets, and the “Syrian rebels” in general, according to Sterling, are comparable to the Contras created by the USA in the 1980s to overthrow the Sandinista revolution in Nicaragua (1979).
Currently, he adds that the war-hawks in control of the USA, despite their debacles in Iraq, Libya, and Yemen, seem determined to maintain their illegal occupation of Syria, and are pursuing a policy of confrontation with Russia.
3. Situation in Syria “very dangerous”
April 9th, 2018
Featured Guest: STEPHEN GOWANS, Ottawa-based writer and political commentator, author of the upcoming “Patriots, Traitors and Empires: The Story of Korea’s Fight for Freedom.”
Description (20 minutes):
Stephen Gowans calls the current situation in Syria “very dangerous.”
Despite the unconfirmed nature of reports of a chemical weapons incident in Douma, Trump has declared he’ll decide unilaterally on a course of action in Syria, even though the USA has no legal standing in that country.
The chemical weapons accusation, propounded by groups with an interest in maintaining the Western military intervention in Syria, coincides not accidentally with Trumps’ stated desire to pull US troops out of Syria.
