Description (45 minutes):

Phil Taylor discusses two related issues: the response to COVID-19, and the necessary response to Canada’s arrest of Meng Wanzhou.

There has been in North America a half-hearted approach to fighting COVID. The WHO advocated against half-measures, but because we have a capitalist system, the perceived interests of business were placed ahead of public safety. We aren’t supposed to mention China’s success in combating the epidemic.

Makes you wonder, which states respect the right-to-life, and which respect business?

The issues of class and race are all over this story, but aren’t addressed directly in the press.

Phil also discusses the Meng Wanzhou case. There is an idea that Joe Biden might rescue this case. It brings to mind Michael Hudson’s statement on Moderate Rebels that “Canada is not a country anymore…it’s become a U.S. satellite.” To solve the issue of Meng, we need to be a country.

If we want to preserve ‘rule-of-law,’ the Attorney General should release Meng Wanzhou. That would be seen as a sovereign country exercising its authority. We can see from the debacle in Vancouver that Meng’s rights were violated. Canada could win world-wide respect if we acted as a sovereign country.

The maniac pundits on the CBC say in chorus that “it’s time to become hardline.” Well, we became hardline when we intercepted Meng. We bit China. Trump laughed. You want to fight a bully? You’ve got one

Phil analyses revealing details of FBI, RCMP, Border Services collusion in the Meng Wanzhou matter, details largely ignored in mainstream media.
