Join us to discuss the Israeli Zionist genocide on Gaza in the broader context of U.S. imperialist efforts to maintain and expand their hegemony in West Asia. Speakers will discuss the importance of the Palestinian struggle, the U.S. and Israel’s expanding attacks throughout West Asia, the significance of Iran in resisting imperialist and Zionist aggression, and the role of NATO member countries in the U.S./Israeli war drive.

Speakers:

Angelune des Lauriers
Angelune is a public sector worker and labour activist. She’s an active member of Labour 4 Palestine and Mamas 4 Palestine, and has been involved with supporting Syrian refugees since 2016. Her activism focuses on building working class solidarity from an anti-racist foundation.

Mona Ghassemi
President of the Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC). Mona has been key in researching and preparing many of ICC’s statements in defence of democratic human rights in Canada in the context of the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Robin Philpot
Publisher of Baraka Books of Montreal. He is author or co-author of seven books in French and English, including Rwanda and the New Scramble for Africa, From Tragedy to Useful Imperial Fiction and A People’s History of Quebec.

Rick Sterling
Rick Sterling is a dual Canadian US citizen. Raised in Vancouver, he attended Simon Fraser University and afterward went to the US working with Liberation Support Movement in solidarity with the southern African liberation movements. He spent the summer of 2007 in the Palestinian West Bank and has made five visits to Syria beginning 2013. He has reported on and investigated many aspects of imperial domination of West Asia, especially media disinformation.
